We are SO happy it’s spring. The blossoms on our street are about to burst, we’ve had a day or two that’s hinting at the warmer weather… Exciting!

And, to mark the change of season, and in the ye olde tradition of the Spring Clean, we’re selling off our stock from our previous ranges, with a 5 day webstore sale.

The Autumn Winter and Classic 2010 range is all reduced by about 20-30%, but there are some particular items with much larger reductions:

Buckle Bags, Joni Bags, Travel Wallets, Crunch Bags and Case Bags are all at 50% off.

The Uncle Ned range is all at a further 50% off (they are super cheap at the moment – jump in for that boyfriend/husband/dad purchase!)

We’re eagerly awaiting the new season’s arrival – both in actual weather terms as well as our new stock – expect the lovely new range to be found in stores and online in the next 3 weeks or so! Phew it was a little stressful but our webstore is back up… Don’t get me started on hosting companies!

We’ve reduced some of the Vintage range a little more too, hope you find something there you like! And anything that we’ve sold out of in the Autumn Winter range will be back in stock the week after Easter, apart from the Digital Flowers Poppy Clutch, which has been such a hit that we have completely and forever sold out of! Look out for new versions next season!

Just wanted to say how nice the piece by Michi Girl in the Saturday Age last weekend was… She said some lovely things about nancybird, I was so chuffed!! I don’t have a good copy of it yet but I’ll pop it into our Media section soon. Also have a squizz at our Impact page – we have made some more changes like using recycled boxes and plastic bags – and we are always interested in new ways of doing things to lower our environmental impact. We are looking at using kangaroo leather (getting a little closer with this one) and a new technique of tanning that is chrome free and therefore less harmful to the environment. Get in touch with us if you have any suggestions, always intererested in hearing from you!

Phew the year is speeding along at a frantic pace now isn’t it?

We just wanted to let everyone know that we’ll be closed from the 23rd December until the 5th January. No webstore sales will be sent during this time.

Also, we’ll be having a warehouse sale on Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th January. It will be a little warehouse clearout of seconds and samples from various seasons.

We’ll be sending more details when we get back to work on the 5th…

We hope you have a happy, relaxing Christmas! I am heading to New Zealand for some camping, nice wine and some walks around the south island…  Can’t wait!

Thanks to the lovely teachers and parents that wrote to me about the boxes of fabric and leather offcuts! I am happily giving these away to two primary schools, one in Werribee South and one in Hoppers Crossing. Hopefully we’ll see some pics of their crafty work! I’ll post them up here once those kids have worked their magic.

We’ve just done a large clean of the studio, and we have a couple of boxes of fabric and leather offcuts that we no longer need…

We thought that a school would appreciate these for art,  craft  or fashion classes.

The leather offcuts are mostly soft leathers and pretty small pieces, but lots of colours and textures.

The fabrics are a mix of plains, prints, some small, some maybe half a metre. Lots of colours and patterns.

We are happy to give these away for free to a school that would appreciate it. They are two large boxes.

We only ask that you can pick them up from our warehouse in Northcote, and that you take the whole thing (sorry no choosing the best pieces!).

All of the various ranges is now available for purchase. We are receiving stock next week, and will begin dispatching towards the end of the week. Please have patience if you order something ahead of time, we will be really busy and we’ll be doing our best to get your purchase out to you asap!

So, it’s been a busy year so far here at nancybird HQ.

It’s still freezing here in the lofty, drafty warehouse… I’ve been sampling new fabrics so that occassionally keeps me warm enough to take off the large winter jacket… In other news, we have a new men’s range coming out, we’ve taken on a lovely PR mob to help us see some nancybird pop up around town, and we’re in the middle of designing for next year…

Not to mention that our new Spring Summer collection will be ready in about two weeks time!

It’s a gorgeous range with lot’s of new colours, leathers, styles and fabrics. The leather has changed, it’s super super soft, a bit thicker, with really rich colours. We hope you like…

So, it will be previewed online from the 24th July (where you can also pre-order new stock), with delivery from about 30th July. It should be in stores from around the 31st July…
